Sense — Interactive Workshop
Host
Marianne Mikkelsen
Date and Time
May 21st, 10:30 - 12:00
Space
Salon (3F, Masil)
Let us activate our senses and sense of belonging at the Library.
By closing our eyes, we open our other senses and are guided through:
     - Touching with our hands and skin
     - Listening with our ears
     - Smelling with our noses
     - Tasting with our mouths
     - Experiencing, exploring and relating with all our senses, individually and together.
The workshop explores elements of nature; new, well-known and maybe nearly forgotten – we will explore both elements of nature and our own sensing. Participants will gain embodied understanding of the power of senses as gateways to connect. The workshop includes individualized take-aways, to instantly implement more sensing in everyday (library) life. The workshop is part of the Danish, Aarhus-based Dokk1's work as 'Green Generator', open practice and continuous exploration of micro and macro actions to expand the experience in our shared libraries and to bring us all closer to nature.

Marianne has years of experience exploring nearby nature with a wide variety of participants. With presence and attention, she creates a room to accommodate all participants, their capacities and limitations. At Dokk1 Marianne works together with citizens on sustainability and green formation, opening doors to hearts and minds with senses, stories and practical hands-on skills. She is formally educated as Nature Guide, in Scandinavian Language and Literature and History of Ideas. 56 years grown up and never-ending curious.
