Workshop

This interactive workshop will identify key considerations for designing inclusive, trust-building, and culturally responsive services for libraries to support recently arrived refugees and immigrants.
The workshop is part of the LIBCONNECT project, which aims to develop a practical toolbox to support libraries in their work with immigrants and refugees. The toolbox will provide adaptable methods and prompts to help libraries build relationships, foster meaningful participation, and create welcoming community spaces. It will be developed in close dialogue with practitioners.
The workshop is the first step to establish this dialogue through input, considerations, mutual inspiration, and knowledge sharing of best practices working with immigrants and refugees. The goal is to present the toolbox and continue the dialogue at Next Library, in Aarhus, Denmark 2027.
The workshop organizers have all conducted in-depth research on this topic through the international PubLIB (Public Libraries for Immigrants and Refugees) network.
