We share powerful testimonials from children like Naod, who wandered into the library without a purpose and soon discovered a place that nurtured his confidence, reading skills, and sense of belonging. Or Matias, an 18-year-old who came out of loneliness and started his own community fighting this societal problem.

Through these stories, we reveal four anchors of connection: the library as a meaningful third place, warm relationships with staff, empowering programmes, and the friendships young people build with peers. This impact doesn’t happen by accident: it requires structure, clarity, and a committed team.

Laure, inspired by teaching youth (15+) in Brussels through Teach For Belgium, founded Kubus in 2022: the first youth library in Europe. With a vision of participation and leadership, she empowers young people as project leaders, community builders, and librarians, shaping inclusive structures and vibrant communities.

Lotte is a maker, a mother, and a motivator who believes in the transformative power of creativity. Over the past three years, Lotte has reshaped how the community connects with its youngest members, turning the library into a place where imagination and confidence can flourish.
