Ignite Talk

While "community" has been a major trend in libraries for years, many still struggle with a vague definition of who that community actually serves. In this Ignite Talk, we explore the transformative power of a purpose-driven approach.
Meet LaPeach: an initiative redefining the library’s utility by building a dedicated ecosystem for slow learners and the families, educators, and advocates who support them. Instead of trying to serve everyone, LaPeach proves that a clearly defined target audience creates a much stronger, more resilient network.
We will introduce "Dot," our broad, regionally connected network that uses the library as a trusted physical hub to unite this often-isolated demographic. Join us to discover how connecting these "dots" creates a robust ecosystem and learn why the future of libraries lies in highly focused, purpose-driven communities.

Yunkyung Hwang is a former Data Scientist and AI Engineer who developed an AI language adaptor. Driven by profound questions like, "What defines good technology?" and "How should it truly be used?", they are deeply passionate about technology's human impact.
Originally joining Peach Market as CTO, she intentionally transitioned to the role of COO. This strategic shift reflects a dedication to community expansion—choosing to focus on connecting people rather than just building systems. Today, they bridge the gap between innovative tech and inclusive, purpose-driven ecosystems.
